“Control Your Anger”

Aristotle  says that “Anybody can become angry — that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way — that is not within everybody's power and is not easy.”  For me that statement is right, we can find anyone around us who to easy become angry and feel free to express their anger to the other people….. and the worst thing is they do it without feeling any guilt.  I have an article about “the most typical response” when we are feeling angry:
1.      Find someone to blame
2.      Express our anger to someone else
3.      Become silent and withhold our affection from the people        around us
4.      Sulk or pout
5.      Find some distractions (work, busyness, shopping,
         television, or anything else)
6.      Get revenge ( make someone to pay)
7.      Tell ourselves we can live without anger (it doesn't matter)
8.      Express our anger to God

So which one “the most typical response” that you prefer or usually you did it when you are
feeling angry????
Now, let’s find what does the bible say about anger?? Is that sin?? Is that wrong?? Or is that abnormal??
Let’s read one of the 310 verses in the Bible that says about anger or rage, our passage in Psalm 4:4.

“NIV Psalm 4:4 In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. Selah”

ESV Psalm 4:4 Be angry,1 and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent.

NAB Psalm 4:5 1 Tremble and do not sin; upon your beds ponder in silence.

NAU Psalm 4:4 1aTremble, 2band do not sin; 3cMeditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still.

NKJ Psalm 4:4 Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.

NET Psalm 4:4 Tremble with fear and do not sin!13 Meditate as you lie in bed, and repent of your ways!14

NRS Psalm 4:4 When you are disturbed,1 do not sin; ponder it on your beds, and be silent.

NLT Psalm 4:4 Don't sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent

Base on our passage we found three basic principles about anger:
First, the passage does not say that we cannot or should not angry but “In your anger do not sin”.  In NLT (New Living Translation) says that “Don't sin by letting anger control you”.  Angry it is not a sin, anger is one of a variety of human expression that God has given to us.
Second, when you feeling angry search your heart, ponder in your own heart, think about it overnight or meditate within your heart on your bed.
Third, be silent.  When we are feeling angry, easy for us to talk without thinking, we able to hurt anyone with our words and some day it will make us regret. In Proverbs 16:32 says “Better a patient person than a warrior, those with self-control than those who take a city.

I’m really proud of my husband, he is a man who always inspire me, for me he is a strong man, it does not because he has big body or he has big mussels but it because he always able to controls himself, controls his emotion especially when he is feeling angry.

Talk to God openly about your feeling, may the Holy Spirit helps us to control our anger and be wise if something or someone making us angry.  God bless u… :) :)
